Senior Trip – Mr. Schneider informed the Board that the Senior Class was taking the Amtrak into Chicago, beginning March 20th.  This trip will last until Sunday night, March 22nd.  The problem they face is they will need some mode of transportation for their luggage and getting around Chicago, as there are many activities scheduled that are around the Chicagoland area.  It was suggested that a school bus be used, but as of yet could not find a driver that will drive in Chicago with a bus.

Principal’s Report:

Mr. Schneider reported that the Paw Paw Varsity High School Cheerleaders competed the previous weekend in a cheer competition.  Out of 43 teams they finished 2nd, just being edged out by Hononegah High School, a much larger school.
Ten students from the Paw Paw Jr. High attended a Leadership Conference at Kishwaukee College.  Students from the Kishwaukee serving area were in attendance.  There were about six different stations that the students went through to learn different strategies for being a leader in their schools.
There will be a 5th grade girls basketball team.  Mrs. Odle volunteered to help coach them and they have about 4 scheduled games with other 5th grade teams.
There will be a viewing of the Inauguration Ceremony at the school.  Mrs. Jamroch and Mr. Schneider are in the process of setting that up.
The spring musical, set for March 13th, 14th, and 15th, has started practices and is well under way.

Superintendent’s Report:

Mr. Priest referred to the informational bulletin, included in their board packet, from IMRF.  The Districts share will increase dramatically in 2010.  The increase is for non-certified who qualify for IMRF.  Also enclosed in the board packet is a letter from the Paw Paw Teachers’ Union, requesting a start date for negotiations.  This will be discussed in closed session.
